"Sam,
I'm sorry I couldn't be here today. I have urgent business to attend to.
You asked me what would happen to the others like you.
The ones who left The Frontier.
I still don't have the answers.
Maybe if you plug back in, you can see for yourself.
Lilith's room should have what you need."
- Darius

A point-and-click visual novel where you, Sam, a recent exile from The Frontier, try to understand more about the rapidly declining population, and its local folktale horror, Lilith.

Nothing is what it seems.

Story, programming: mabbees
Illustration, design: CJ

Authors' note

This is a prototype for what we hope will be our next "big" game—we want your feedback! Inspired by this piece of trash by Andreesen Horowitz and other "utopian" visions from Big Tech, we created the Frontier—a game where everyone who pays is happy, all of the time. Well, most of the time.
Until Lilith tears it down.

"These gays, they're trying to murder me."

This is such a really cool start to your next project! I love all the character designs; Lilith is a huge standout, and I loved her dialogue with Freya. I'm so excited to learn more about this world and setting!

Thank you for playing!

mabbees is the main writer on this; I’m designing the characters, so I wanted to give them a queer dark magical girl vibe. <3

This seems pretty interesting already, I love your art and expressions and I look forward to seeing what this techno hellscape becomes in the future with new releases of the game.

Thank you for your comment! That encourages me to continue making art of them and see where this goes.

We (as in, mabbees and I) are tied up with work atm but are looking forward to find time to make more progress on a full version.

holy shit i thought i had seen the worst tech slop there was out there and then i read that link goodness lmao

really lovely proof of concept! very much feels like beginning of the matrix but Yuri and you know what thats more than enough for me :^)

looking forward to seeing more!!!!!!!

Thank you!

That link truly is vile... when I read it I was like, "are you shitting me" lol

Both mabbees and I love the Matrix and the inherent (we think) queerness of it - so I'm glad to hear it hit that sweet spot. Thank you for playing <3
